While I admire the skill of mixing samples, I really dislike this practice. In my opinion, it shows laziness - instead of creating music, you just take what others wrote and spin it. I guess I am old, but I like music made with real instruments, not on a computer. This is why most of the new music sounds really lame and similar. I can count on my fingers how many songs I like that were released after 2005...
give jamie xx a chance
The remix of daft punk's one more time is made by Zedd.
Is this an app that shows those lines?
All I do every day is listen to a Swedish boy react to make or crush on music and I love it
Does anyone else hear Minecraft in Drakes song?
pause and go to 0:00
Joel du borde göra mer tekniska gömförelser mellan gamma musik och dagens..
¨...Stairway to heaven... FFS
Imagine listening to 6 full songs just to make 1-7 second segments for your own song
Panic at the disco sampled Sesame Street I wish I was kidding
Um, We Need A Resolution by Aaliyah is a CLASSIC! Also, Timbaland is a genius who somehow skates by without any real music theory and still crafts masterpieces. He's likely the greatest producer of all time.
Good luck doing this to Girl Talk.
More please?
I don’t understand what this video is about!!!
Under the sun by dreamville used some older song in the song.
More please
The reason why the strings in Toxic sound better than in the sample is because it's not the same strings. It's not a sample, just the same melody performed by Stockholm Session Strings.
I can't believe Daft Punk sampled that kickass guitar bit from Evil Woman. It's so unique to that song that it actually kinda bothered me. They disguise it well but I could still hear it. Good track but I can't get over that one tiny bit. Very very creative at least.
14:05
(0:00) the greatest face ever
Awesome, more please!!!
3:00 Joel : Does it relly sound like that? Singer responses : Yeah!
Mobb Deep probably has two of the best beats in hip hop history with “Survival of the Fittest” and “Shook Ones pt. II”. Havoc is an amazingly underrated producer.
This is call the beauty of sampling, blatant ripping off is lame.
Daft Punk are so crazy awesome in sampling! RIP Daft Punk!
man, that's awesome, we need part 2!!
Yes, QotSA! Love seeing you look into some other bands. :)
Wow so music production is a lot like graphic design
0:10 - 0:18 also sounds like the pre-chorus of 'Get Lucky' by Daft Punk.
keep saying this in roomies new vids saying “ react to green day please like rank the green day songs from greatest green day songs to worst green day song” pls do it in everyone of his new vids until he does it pls it would be great vid if he does pls do it basically copy and paste this text on all his new vids until he does it
"Imagine a pop song being called Kissing My Love" It wasn't a pop song Joel
daft punk, THE KING OF SAMPLING.
face to face is too good yo i need all of the daft punk sample mashups pls
Great video Joel!
Anyone else here GTA vice city theme in Pale Shelter??
There are Plugins which cut the Song in equal parts (1/4 Beat) and then you can play each beat with a certain key on your keyboard...
Futurama theme Me : OAO
7:16 JaSoN dErUlO
daft punk are the masters in this video
I think the Futurama bells sound slightly different because they got high passed to remove the guitar.
The entire videi could be everything Kanye West has ever done. Hes just not that good
*Can you even release a song called "Evil Woman" today?* Bad Guy by Billie Eilish : 😶
Why would you sample Family business by Kanye when the whole first 90seconds is a series of samples and autosounds from radio and phone messages etc. They are personal to Kanye, it's a bit weird to be honest. Daft Punk tho? Mad Respect!
So cool watching Roomie try new video formats. And not just the same old songs over and over again. Kuddos!
I think there's another point to the Devil in a New Dress sample you're kind of missing, Bink! (the producer) took 2 parts of the sample and mashed them seamlessly so they sounded like one continuous sample. Other than that I kind of agree it's a bit lackluster, but that's still something I wanted to point out.
Also, super dope, dude, keep it up
Wth was that zoom at the start 😂
God Jesus and The Holy Spirit Is great
10:21 - Hmm. That beat sounds a little too familiar.
Me: off to listen the full versions of these samples 👀
Do more about this kind of contentttttt
I am pretty sure that kanye sample was already a sample lol
Original Song VS Remade song (example: Falling in Reverse - The drug in me is you VS The drug in me is reimagined)
I feel like you should do more of these
Kanye the sample God
15:41 Am I the only one who heard Lavender Town music from this?-
My mind blew and now its crushed into pieces so I can't stop watching this video again and again
4:45 s.p balasubrahmanyam ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
man thats so sad i wish i could buy a shirt but i dont have money
The Mobb Deep one was sick 🔥♥️
Should see Avalanches songs, any of the first album, it's just incredible.
that conductor edit was golden hahaha
FUUUUU. the virus one as well hahahah. i love your editors
if i ever sampled like that i would never say it
you should do one with only kanye west. he s a beast
wait osm watches roomie a music artist osm is a proffetional rocket league player
madeon - popculture is like all sample, 40 different songs or something like that :P
That's so FRIGGIN NEAT!!!!
Roomie should take a look at all of undertale’s music. Toby fox only made like 3 or smthn pieces and the rest are just mixes of the base.
Secrets is such an underrated song
Dude, Roomi. J Dilla did the mix him self. He was a genius. His mpc3000 is in a museum. Vox has a video on this too.
100000000000000000000000000
If Joel likes samples that are really intricate I think he should look up some of Hideki Naganuma's work because he is known for sampling for his music
This is so cool!🤯😁
Roomie reminds me of olaf sometimes
3:00 the song is answering ro him😅
Sample music and no prodigy? Damn 😔
It never happened to me to watch youtube videos more than once (besides music videos of course), this is like my fifth time I'm coming back for this, loved it :)))
Damn I found Aerodynamic from this video, fucking amazing. God dam I'm in love.
9:58 this song sounds a bit like, Lionel Richie - hello
would've loved to see the crazy train sample hhahahahaa so weird
Futurama theme song is now ruined for me.
You are Swedish and still butcher Eple . . . I'm surprised to be honest
You r a white boi
Sslslsl
Roomie, make a song out of samples
I never expected to hear Cole in a Roomie video and im fuckin happy
Indians : play the whole song dammit
not @ a lata mangeshkar song turning into a britney song xD
Look at all the samples from virtual riot idols, there are more than all of the songs in this video
This format is fuckin excellent
daft punk & weeknd 😘
You should honestly do a video on J Dilla
Are the Daft Punk samples intentional or, something they heard repeated in a different order subconsciously.
The Aaliyah song, timbaland is known for being slightly behind the beat, makes sense a drummer by trade would be thrown off. As well as a pop music listener used to quantized music.
Jazz seems great to sample because there are moments of brilliance that most listeners don't have the patience to wait through a whole track for. Jazz has its own greatness, but requires an ear for music, that most people aren't prepped for, but a few notes here and there are easier to listen to.
Dope format for samples
This was so cool to watch!
Started from the bottom reminds me of NBA 2k
Just me feeling like Daft Punk is on some other intense level of music producing and sampling? lmao
